New York Nightclubs, The Cotswolds Way, Linguine with Anchovies
It was a strange time in those nightclubs. Not nearly as strange as the thought of walking the Cotswold Way. Perhaps I’ll balance things out with a plate of linguini and anchovies along the journey.
If you thought I’d run out of stories by now, I regret to inform you that you’re sorely mistaken. I’ve got plenty left, and for this installment, I’m reaching back to my wild youth. In my early twenties, I slipped into more than a few of the nightclubs southern New York had to offer, and I’d like to share some of those experiences with you.
I’ll also take you in a very different direction - toward a quiet but remarkable treasure tucked into the English countryside: the Cotswold Way, a path best suited for the reflective and curious.
And to round things out, I’ve got a recipe that proves simple ingredients can deliver bold flavor. It’s Italian, of course, and if that’s your kind of thing, you won’t want to miss it.

The Life & Death of the New York Nightclub
It feels like a lifetime ago. Just thinking back on the nightlife I once knew is enough to make me tired. I was a very different person back then, but I loved every minute of it. Whatever happened to all those nightclubs that once lit up southern New York? At the time, there seemed to be dozens of them, each one jam-packed every weekend. How could something that was once so popular fade so completely? Read on, and I’ll tell you.
The Cotswolds Way
I often wonder if people sit behind their computers or scroll through their phones searching for that “perfect” place to visit. For the young and adventurous, Miami Beach might be the obvious choice. But for those of us who are a bit older, the decision requires more thought. A beach trip is easy enough to plan, but what about the prospect of visiting a fine estate? Rolling countryside? Villages so charming they look like they belong in a storybook? If travel calls to you, you’ll want to keep reading. Just don’t forget to pack a good pair of walking shoes.
Linguine with Tomatoes, Anchovies, & Chilis Recipe
If you enjoy healthy eating and find yourself drawn to the Mediterranean diet, you’re in luck. I’ve spent a lot of time experimenting in the kitchen with dishes built around vegetables, whole grains, legumes, olive oil, and nuts - all the good stuff. Today’s recipe is a personal favorite: a simple yet bold pasta that brings together black olives, capers, anchovies, and just the right kick of chili. It’s rustic, vibrant, and absolutely delicious.
